A plastic canvas produced by Plastisul through the three-layer coextrusion process. It is specially recommended for the upper covering and internal coating of forage silos, all of them employed in the livestock food supply. It should be used when maximum yield from the ensiled material is desired, with perfect fermentation and virtually no loss of the stored material.
It is also recommended for the outdoor drying of cereals, emergency stockpiling, poultry breeding farms, brick and pottery plants, constructions, and other purposes.
Coextrusion is currently the most advanced process used in the production of agricultural films. This technology is adopted in European countries, U.S.A., Japan, Israel, among several other countries. The three layers of the TRIPLAST SUPER UV is simultaneously produced through the coextrusion process, and then melted in the solidification process of the material, thus generating only one uniform and inseparable film. This technology allows the possibility of working with several layers - which becoming only one layer - enhance their properties by associating the advantages of black films with the excellent characteristics of the white film. On the upper covering of the forage silo, the two-color canvas is placed with the white face (outer face) towards the sun and weather. Because it is chemically additivated with ultraviolet stabilized titanium dioxide (TIO2), this white face reflects the heat, reducing the surface temperature of the plastic film. The black face (inner face) is placed towards the silage, that is, towards the inner part of the silo. It is strongly stabilized by carbon black pigment, which ensures extreme mechanical resistance. A third layer has been added between the inner and outer layers. This third layer is also made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), less permeable to oxidation. The three layers prevent the formation of microholes. Its main function is to prevent gas from leaking out. With the coextrusion of the three layers – the white one that reflects the heat, the impermeable polymer in the middle, and the third ultra-resistant layer - the final product will surely have an above-the-average nutritional value.
Direct result - the burning of the ensiled mass in the first 20 centimeters below the surface is prevented, thus ensuring that the final product has an above-the-average nutritional value.
Advantages of the Plastisul Triplast Super-UV
• high mechanical resistance to bad weather (ultraviolet radiation from the sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.) This mechanical resistance makes handling a lot easier;
• high resistance to aging due the stabilizers and to the white pigment of the outer layer, keeping it strong and malleable for a long period of time. In other words, a longer useful life;
• it maintains the internal temperature, reduces the fermentation phenomenon considerably, thus providing maximum preservation of the energetic properties of the ensiled material (silage with a high rate of lactic acid formation);
• less permeability (almost none) to gases and oxygen in the air, which prevents deterioration and the consequent loss of the stored product.
